Clean & Simple!

Uh Oh, the challenge this month is clean and simple...I'm not very good at clean (being a Vintage kind of gal) and I'm certainly not simple (maybe I'll add another layer...and another button, umm and another.....) you see how I can get into trouble!

Now I just picked up a new Stencil (because I saw some Gorgeous samples at the CHA using it!) and I thought, "it's pretty enough on it's own, THAT'S how I'll stay Simple!"
Okay, so I didn't just stay with just the WaterLily Background Stencil LJ861, I added the Dragonfly LS 56, but you don't see any buttons do you!?

So to recreate this card, all you have to do is...
I machine embossed a white piece of cardstock using the Waterlily Background stencil.  Then without removing the stencil I added Tsukineko Rosebud Pink and Bamboo Leaves with my stencil brush, I brushed on the colour quickly, and didn't worry if I went "out of the lines", that may not constitute "clean" but it surely falls in the category of "simple".  Now I REALLY wanted to fill in the Blue water, but I held back and I'm SO glad that I did!  The white background is SO pretty!
I then machine embossed the Dragonfly LS 56 on Vellum and using the stencil brushes again, coloured in the wings.  For a little extra sparkle (sorry, I couldn't help myself!) I added my favorite Sakura Stardust Clear pen on the Dragonfly's body.  I added the small sentiment, and popped up the Dragonfly with a titch of Foam tape.

Now I think this card is really pretty, and it's totally outside of my comfort zone!  But even if it isn't exactly CAS (Clean and Simple) I still have 4 weeks to practice!  And I'm hoping you guys will play along with the challenge and give me some inspiration!  AND if it wasn't enough to be MY inspiration, you can also link up to The Dream it Up! Blog, and win 2 Free Stencils this month!  I LOVE winning free stuff, don't you?  Well then, create a card, post it to your blog, or to Splitcoast Stampers and link that to Lynell and cross your fingers!  Good Luck!

And with that,
Create Cleanly
Stencil Simply
and Have Fun Playing!
